Due to COVID-19 - Walk-Up Plant Sale Canceled - Staggered Pickups for Pre-Orders

Due to COVID-19 (aka the coronavirus), we have made some modifications to our Annual Plant Sale. Read on to learn about our staggered pickups for pre-order patrons only.

Snohomish Conservation District is fully aware of the evolving health situation related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We, like many other organizations, are reviewing our upcoming events and trying to reduce the risk of potential exposure to our Plant Sale customers and staff.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to CANCEL the general walk-up sale on March 21st.

Again, we have decided to go with a Pre-Order Sale ONLY. We are NOT offering the option to show up, peruse the plants and buy on the day of. And, as of Sunday, March 15th, pre-orders have officially closed.

Staggered Pickups

In order to address the need to keep groups of people smaller than 50, we will be offering staggered pickups for plants starting on Friday, March 20th. If you pre-ordered - either in January or last week - we ask that you come during one of these times.

  • Friday the 20th from 12:30 - 4:30 pm

  • Saturday the 21st from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, or

  • Monday the 23rd from 10 am - 7 pm.

Our plan at this point, as of Monday, March 16th, is to have a drive-through / curbside (without the curb) pickup. We will ask for your name or order number and bring out your plants. We will ask you all to stay in your vehicles until your plants have been brought out by our staff and volunteers. At no time, may a line of people start in order to maintain the social distance requirements recommended to be at least 6 feet.

 Again, all of this assumes that you are illness-free. Please do not come to the fairgrounds if you are sick or showing any symptoms. We’ll work out an alternative plan to get you your plants. Email us if you are concerned.

Health Guidelines

The leading guidance from health officials is to keep ourselves and others safe by following common sense tips such as good hand washing hygiene and staying home when sick, which are available on the Department of Health website. We highly encourage our Plant Sale patrons to take these steps:

  • Frequently wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds throughout the day;

  • If you aren’t feeling well, stay home;

  • If you have children and they are experiencing any symptoms please keep them home from school; and

If you are over the age of 60, or have a compromised immune system please avoid public gatherings and non-essential travel outside the home. We hope that our staggered, drive-through plan, will allow people to come and not be exposed to a large gathering. Contact us if you are concerned.

To learn more, our local health partners have information about the virus on their websites:

Center for Disease Control has background information about the virus, its status globally, and materials tailored for specific audience groups.

In Closing

So, again, we have canceled the walk-up sale on March 21st, but if you pre-ordered plants, you'll be able to pick them up on the staggered scheduled listed below.

Thank you for your patience with us as we navigate another contingency-filled Plant Sale.
