Highlights from Silvana Fair

The 2017 fair season began with the 70th annual community run Silvana Fair right off Highway 530 in Silvana, Washington. The Silvana Fair is one of the lead off fairs in Snohomish County, and is viewed as a good trial run for youth, as they prepare to show animals at the bigger fairs like the Evergreen State Fair and Stanwood-Camano. Two of our staff members, Cam and Lois, hosted our booth on Saturday, July 29th.

Our goal for attending fairs is to outreach to our local community to advise them of the services our agency provides. Cam and Lois chatted with folks about our services and how they can take advantage of some of our programs, especially those geared for farms and rural properties. Lois Ruskell from Snohomish Conservation District also shared, "A fun time was had by all!"

We hope that more will come out next weekend for the larger Stanwood-Camano Community Fair running August 4 - 6, 2017. Snohomish Conservation District will have a group of historical photos at their booth and invite fair attendees to identify who and/or what is in the photos!

The 2018 Silvana Fair is scheduled for the last Saturday in July, which will be the 28th in 2018.
