Jon Stevens | Joy & Gratitude
/What's your connection to the land?
I am a sixth generation farmer from the midwest. My family started growing spearmint in the late 1800's in Ohio - a new industry in the area.
What actions have you taken as a steward that you're most proud of and/or that you feel have made the biggest difference?
Focusing on soil fertility and the use of manure and mulch to build the microbial health of the soil.
What’s your hope for the next 75 years?And/or what advice do you have for those next 75 years?
I hope, as a nation, that we embrace the health that is available through organic foods.
Anything else you want to share or feel is important?
I continue to be amazed at how excited people become when they learn to garden. I think that the tools that the Snohomish Conservation District provides are 'mission critical' to that effort.
