District Manager Retiring

Monte Marti, who has been our District Manager since 2010, is retiring on August 9, 2019. Before his stint as a full-time employee with Snohomish Conservation District, he was on the Board of Supervisors from 1985 to 2010. During that time, he served as the Washington Association of Conservation Districts (WACD) Secretary/Treasurer. Monte was also a Northwest Area Director and is currently the Chair for the 12 Puget Sound Conservation Districts. He originally began his association with SCD in 1983 as a volunteer in a role that would now be described as a farm planner.

Monte is retiring from his second career. He spent 25 years in telecom with GTE, which later became Verizon in Everett.

Snohomish Conservation District is seeking a new leader to oversee and steward the district’s operations. Going forward, we will be led by an Executive Director. We welcome qualified applicants to apply. The initial deadline is July 12, 2019, but the position will be open until filled. Learn more about the position on our employment page.
