Samantha has been a CAD Drafter for several years, supporting engineers by creating structural, architectural, electrical and mechanical plans for construction - she is thrilled to turn her skills from construction to conservation. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Animation and Visual Effects from New Mexico State University and used the knowledge of graphics she gained to start her career in CAD drafting.

What do you like about living in the Pacific Northwest?

I love living around the abundant lakes for paddle boarding, mountains for snowboarding, and the lush green forests for hiking. Every season here has something going for it; from the snow-capped peaks in the winter to the mild sea breeze in the summer. My favorite part is the gorgeous colors of the blooming flowers and trees in the springtime!

Why do you work here (at the District)?

I want to play a part in the protection and preservation of our beautiful natural landscape and the creatures who depend on it for their homes.

Bonus fact!

I was once bitten on the ankle by a French capuchin monkey named Armel.
