Join us for Wildfire Community Preparedness Day!
Concerned about wildfires and smoke? Gather with your neighbors on May 7 to learn about fire preparedness, air quality, and forest health. Snohomish Conservation District is hosting an educational workshop with presentations from University of Washington, Snohomish County, Washington Department of Natural Resources and Glacier Peak Institute.
You’ll learn about:
Current local efforts to address emergency preparedness
Western vs Eastern fire ecology
The negative impacts of outdoor burning
Creating defensible space for your property
New wood chipping program
The Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management will also be presenting their Community Wildfire Protection Plan for public feedback.
There will be a 20-minute break in the middle of the session! Snacks will be provided.
Thank you to the Department of Ecology for funding this opportunity.
