38th Annual Plant Sale Was One for the Books
/As we wrap up our 38th Annual Plant Sale, we are grateful for the many hundreds of folks who ordered plants and donated their time to make this event a success!
By the numbers…
50,000+ native plants sold to benefit our communities
1,424 orders during our January pre-order window
77 volunteers donated 346 volunteer hours
…and one special weekend in March when we got to see all of your beautiful smiles as you picked up your bundles of plants!
Thank You…
As always, we could not do this Plant Sale without the help of our volunteers! This year, our volunteers donated 346 hours of their time. They bundled, they packed, they handled orders with care. We appreciate all of their assistance from the beginning of Prep Week thru the final hours on Pick-Up Days.
We had an enthusiastic 86 entries to our 6th Annual Youth Art Contest. This year’s theme was Aquatic Macroinvertebrates (aka water bugs!). Pick-up day attendees voted on the People’s Choice Award. The results are in and the winning masterpieces are on display in our online gallery!
Caring for your new plants
Planting season in Washington typically runs from October - late March. It can be extended beyond that if:
conditions remain particularly cool and wet
you're planting a wet site, or
you will be able to irrigate your plants to get them established.
If you have any questions about planting your plants, please get in touch with us. We know it’s been chilly, so if you're planning on waiting more than a few weeks to plant your new plants, it’s recommended that you heel them into some soil in the interim or you can also pot your plants and put them in the ground next winter.
Questions? Concerns? Let us know!
We host the Annual Plant Sale to serve our community. We value your feedback and are already planning improvements for next year’s event. Pre-ordering will again take place online in January with pick-up days in March. If you’re still looking for native plants, we keep a list of local resources.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us by email or by phone at 425-335-5634 ext. 4. We are happy to answer your questions and provide guidance.
