The Wonderful World of Wheat: New Youth Education Lessons!

Snohomish Conservation District’s Youth Education Team is excited to offer Wheat Week to 4th and 5th grade classrooms in Snohomish County and Camano Island!

Wheat Week is a series of five hands-on lessons delivered over the course of one week. These lessons are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards about systems, water, soil, conservation, DNA, energy, and wheat as well as how they impact our daily lives. Each lesson takes approximately one hour. Our trained educators will visit your classroom and all supplies are provided! Wheat Week is free and any school can participate. Teachers are asked to plan together so our educators can teach lessons to three or four classrooms on the same day.

To learn more about Wheat Week and schedule a visit to your classroom, please visit our Sound Education webpage or email education@snohomishcd.org.

Wheat Week is now available in Snohomish County and Camano Island thanks to the support of our generous sponsors and partners: Washington Grain Commission, Snohomish County Farm Bureau, and Franklin Conservation District.
