Geek Out Girl Scout

Last Sunday, Lily Cason from our Sound Education department spent the day with around 200 Girl Scouts and their families at Thornton Sullivan Park in Everett. The goal was STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) learning and badges for the young scouts. Check out the Girl Scouts of Western Washington website for more information on their STEM activities.

The day was split between Kindergarten through 5th grade and 6th through 12th grade scouts. The themes were simply how to take care of our planet for the younger group and environmental conservation for the older group including outdoor art. As for our part, we brought rain barrels for them to paint to teach about rainwater catchment and played some fun games as well.
