Port Susan Snow Goose Festival Wrap-Up

The Port Susan Snow Goose Festival brought together bird, nature, and art lovers from all over the region to Stanwood's Floyd Norgaard Center last weekend. In addition to birding tours and classes, participants enjoyed speaking with many of our area's non-profits, including groups that we work with, such as Pilchuck Audubon, the Cama Beach Foundation, and Friends of Camano Island Parks/Camano Wildlife Habitat Project. (The latter generously helped us out when we weren't available.)

Sara Rocero, our bird expert/Restoration Project Assistant, and Kathryn Wells engaged with festival-goers, talking about native plants for bird habitat, stream restoration, rain gardens, and even how some local dairies recycle manure in innovative ways to protect stream and river health.

The Stanwood Area Historical Society brought back this fun event in 2019, and we hope to see it again every year!
