Soon Farewell to our 2017-2018 Washington Conservation Corps

Our Washington Conservation Corps crew (Ali, Nikki, Tessa, Logan, Seth, and Bethany, and individual placement Allison), having fun while finishing up monitoring the health of a 4.5 acre planting they helped plan and implement this past winter at a wetland restoration site owned by the City of Monroe.

The WCC crew, now in their last two weeks with Snohomish Conservation District, have, in the past 11 months, helped plant nearly 12 acres of native trees and shrubs in this site along Highway 2 in Monroe, helping to improve wetland habitat and the water quality of the two streams that run through it, Cripple Creek and Creaton Creek, and the French Creek Subbasin as a whole.

We will miss their enthusiasm, spunk, respect for the land and their hard work! Thank you WCC for being such a super crew. And, Ali, who has been our Crew Supervisor for three years, words cannot describe how much we'll miss you. Best wishes to all of them in their next adventures!
