Winter Horsekeeping: Managing Well with Best Management Practices

  • Snohomish Conservation District farm tour address will be shared upon registration Snohomish, WA 98290 (map)

Need ideas to reduce mud and make it easier to take care of your horses during our wet winters? Tour a farm whose owners have worked hard to keep the rain from mudding up their lives by installing a rain garden, well-draining paddocks, and a manure composting system. You'll also learn about pasture management, living with wildlife, winter confinement, and outdoor arenas. Farms are a work in progress, and this one is no exception. Come ask the owners about their journey!

Bonus: Use of carnivorous plants for summer fly control!

Two horses in a clean paddock.
