Connecting with Latino Farmers & Agriculture Workers

The Snohomish Conservation District (SCD) is excited to launch the Equity in Conservation program. This program is funded through a cooperative agreement with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The Equity in Conservation program will help support our efforts to engage with Latino and Spanish-speaking farmers and agricultural workers in Snohomish County and Camano Island.

To kick this effort off, in early 2025, SCD will host a listening session with local Latino farmers and agricultural workers. This listening session will encourage farmers to reflect and share about the challenges and opportunities they face growing produce in our area. We will listen, compile what is shared, and use this information to create an outreach plan to connect Latino producers with natural resources programs available through NRCS and SCD.

All listening session participants will receive a catered meal and $50 stipend. Interested participants should take this quick survey to help us pick a date and time that works best.

For more information, or to support our outreach efforts to Latino farmers and agricultural workers, please reach out to Alana Springer at aspringer@snohomishcd.org or 425-293-3315.
