Country Living Expo has an exciting line up of 170+ classes with many returning instructors along with some new instructors and new classes. There will be a dynamic Keynote speaker and Q&A discussion panel of local homesteaders who will be sharing their journey to homesteading. And back by popular demand…FIBERPALOOZA (bring your fleece for fiber judging)!

Join us for a day of learning, networking, and shopping with wonderful vendors. Here is a list of all the classes Snohomish Conservation District will be presenting at the event:

Title: The Home Ignition Zone: Prepare Your Home for Wildfire
Time: Session 3: 11:30am - 12:30pm.
Description: The risk of wildfires is increasing in Western Washington, but there are easy, actionable steps you can take to protect your home. Understand how wildfires spread and learn crucial tips such as how to maintain vegetation near your house, safely store your fuel and firewood, and prevent embers from getting under and into your home.

Title: Noxious Weeds on Your Property: How to Manage Difficult and Undesirable Plants
Time: Session 6: 3:15pm - 4:15pm. 
Description: Noxious weeds have a significant cost to our region—they impact agricultural production, outcompete native species, degrade wildlife habitat, damage infrastructure, and alter land use. Join Snohomish Conservation District staff and learn how to identify different noxious weeds, how they grow and spread, and how to manage them.

Title: Growing a Diverse and Resilient Forest
Time: Session 4: 12:45pm - 1:45pm. 
Description: Many landowners are interested in growing a diverse forest, not just a monoculture. This talk will provide landowners with some helpful guidelines and tips for species selection as well as management considerations when planting certain species.

Title: Grow More Grass: Pasture Management on Small Farms
Time: Session 6: 3:15pm - 4:15pm. 
Description: Well-managed pastures provide high-quality, nutritious feed at a low cost while also absorbing rainfall, filtering nutrients, and reducing erosion. We will discuss grazing management, soil testing, fertilizing, and pasture monitoring. Applicable for small and large farms.
