Join us for a nature walk around Ballinger Park for Orca Recovery Day! Learn about native and invasive plants, how to create bird habitat, and how to help our Southern Resident Killer Whales. There will also be orca swag for you to take home!
We will gather at the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center at 11:30 am for check in, hot chocolate or tea, and orientation. The nature walk around Lake Ballinger Park will begin at 12 pm.
Dress for the weather, and bring your own cup!
Kids and adults are welcome!
Registration has closed, but you can still show up at 11:30am to join us!
The first 60 households to register will be able to reserve a native plant to take home.
Households with 3rd-5th graders can also reserve a youth-focused salmon lesson to do at home after the event.
Kids can join us for nature painting and learn simple ways to protect salmon and orcas. Supplies will be provided.
We will have an ASL interpreter on site!
A big thank you to the City of Mountlake Terrace for partnering with us to sponsor this event. Thanks also to the Washington State Conservation Commission for funding to support this work.
