Anna’s Hummingbirds - Jewels in the Garden

In the garden Anna’s Hummingbirds are not only beautiful to watch, they are also one of the fastest small birds.  During their mating display, Anna’s males can dive at speeds of 90 feet per second. Sheila Pera, Skagit Audubon, will delve into this phenomenon and other mysteries of these beautiful creatures.  The presentation will also include plants that may attract hummingbirds to your garden.  This community program is Wednesday, April 18, 7 p.m. at the Island County Multipurpose Center (Blue Building), 141 N East Camano Drive. The Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks, hosts public presentations the third Wednesday of the month. For information, call 360-387-2236, visit www.camanowildlifehabitat.org, or email camanowildlifehabitat@gmail.com.
