Farm Conservation

There are several ways that farmers help conserve our natural resources.

In this example, someone added streamside fencing in July 2015 to keep livestock out of a waterway. Don’t worry about including exact dates. Month and year are good enough!

Forest Conservation

If part of your property includes a forest, be sure to complete this page. If you do not have forestland, you can check the top box and it will automatically move you to the next screen for Shoreline and Streamside Conservation.

Shoreline or Streamside Conservation

If you live along a waterway, this section allows you to enter actions like planting native species, fencing out livestock, and pulling weeds.

In this example, someone planted a buffer of native trees in February 2018. To select the year for your action, click on the arrows at the top and then select the right month.

Urban/Suburban Conservation

Many of the things you can do in urban and suburban areas involve actions that prevent stormwater pollution such as installing rain gardens, using natural yard care, and cleaning up pest waste.
