This month is the month of fairs all over Snohomish County - Stanwood, Silvana and Evergreen, to name a few. As I walk around the fairs and talk with folks the question always comes up in conversation: "What is it exactly that you do?" The answer to that question is both simple and complicated, and I never feel like I give the person asking the full answer they are looking for.
So, as I was doing some research on various issues today I came across this video, produced by a group in New Mexico, that does a great job describing what my goal is, and the goal we have here at the Conservation District, in helping landowners, farmers and ranchers manage their land not just for better use and reward today, but for the future. Please take a minute and enjoy it, and I hope it speaks to you as well.
If I can be of any assistance at all in helping you care for your own land - from the smallest plot to multiple acres, from just a mini in the back yard to an entire herd on a range - please contact me any time.
And please, tell your friends...your neighbors...the lady at the co-op or the guy you know at the feed store.
This work is my passion, both for the people I get to know and help...and the horses.
Thank you, and I hope to hear from you soon.
