A public meeting on a proposed assessment for Whidbey and Camano Islands will be held at the Community Center at the County Annex.
Camano Island residents are invited to a public meeting on Monday evening, July 20th, 7 PM, to hear about a proposed assessment to provide stable funding for Snohomish Conservation District.

Snohomish Conservation District has served Camano Island since 1961, although it has been difficult over the years to secure stable funding to meet the needs of private landowners on the Island. An assessment would help the District provide dedicated staff for environmental education, farm planning and technical assistance. Camano Island is such a unique place with critical water quality and habitat issues as well as a sole-source aquifer. The Conservation District is a crucial component that can help private landowners protect and manage their natural resources.
