Amy is our Environmental & Agricultural Outreach Support Intern. She is a 2017 Washington State University graduate with degrees in Environmental & Ecosystem Sciences and Geographic Information Systems. While at WSU,  she worked for the University in the Environmental Health & Safety Office and learned a vast amount about how large infrastructures, like universities, function and maintain environmental awareness and sustainability. What do you like about living in the Pacific Northwest?

I love how the people of the PNW have a greater appreciation for the environment and are progressive in the ways we care to protect it. Specifically, Washington is such a beautiful state (including the rain) with incredible locations to hike, camp, fish, and overall explore.

Why do you work here (at the District)?

I am passionate about working for SCD because I hope to build my understanding of environmental maintenance over an entire county. I am also looking forward to the hands-on experience in the field doing restoration and conservation work.

Bonus fact!
