Engaging students in natural places, research and information from their own communities is an impactful way to teach your students about the local environment while enriching their hands-on science and engineering skills!

Teachers who attend will:

  • Learn up to date information on local water pollution, wildlife and habitat issues facing us today from local scientists, researchers and engineers.

  • Utilize Project Based Learning Model to integrate disparate activities, learning objectives and topics into one cohesive learning experience.

  • Connect to local areas and schoolyard activities to engage students in engineering design projects that are locally relevant

  • Plan customized units to connect workshop lessons with what you will teach right away

  • Get trained on tested wildlife, ecosystem and erosion classroom and field-based activities

Earn 8.5 STEM Clock Hours for FREE by attending both workshops! The other part of this series will take place on Saturday, January 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Stanwood at the North City Fire Hall.
