Puget Sound Orca Recovery Day

Join us for a stream side planting along Woods Creek!

The planting will take place along Woods Creek outside of Monroe, WA. Lower Woods Creek is listed by the Washington Department of Ecology as an impaired stream for high fecal coliform bacteria levels and water temperature. The trees that will be planted will filter out nutrients before they enter the stream system, and the leaves will provide shade to the creek during the hot summer, lowering water temperature. The native vegetation will provide increased production of prey insects for listed Chinook an important food source for Orca.

We’re looking for about 20 volunteers! Email Sara to volunteer today! We will send you the actual address in Monroe upon registration.
